Cheng Xiguang’s Landscape Painting Spring Wind Greens Jiangnan Again?Sold For RMB5.5 Million

Abstract: Famous contemporary artist Cheng Xiguang’s landscape painting Spring Wind Greens Jiangnan Again was sold for RMB5.5 Million in 27th Auction of Yuntong Auction·Fuzhou Session on Nov.1, adding another high-price work to his artwork auction records. The estimate before auction was RMB4 million~5.5 million.

The estimate before auction was RMB4 million~5.5 million.

Chen Xiguang has special affections for southern region of the Yangtze River since he was born there. We can also obviously feel the flavor of riverside towns and  ancient streets in southern region of the Yangtze River in his paintings.  

His “urban series” depict the colorful light and mysterious urban night. But his Spring Wind Greens Jiangnan Again is quite bright and lively. The well arranged ancient buildings in the painting are reflected in the water. The willows turn green. The flowers are blossoming. We can feel the spring is coming in such quietness.

Chen Xiguang, originally named Chen Jianguang, is from Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province. He is a member of Chinese Artists Association, Vice-President of China National Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, Honorary President of Chinese Classics Society, President of Huaxia Literature and Art Publishing House, Visiting Professor of Chinese Online Teaching Center, Standing Committee Member of Art Society of China,  Art Director of Chinese Art Online Report, Executive Director of China Jinling Publishing House, Vice-President of Jinling Academy of Painting and Calligraphy and Distinguished Painter of Jiangsu Academy of Traditional Chinese Painting. His works won the highest prize and bronze prize in National Art Exhibitions for many times. Newspapers and journals such as China Art Weekly, Traditional Chinese Painter,  Art Market, Art And Collection, Painting and Calligraphy Art, Xukou Art  all have special edition reports on Chen Xiguang and his artwork. He has published more than 10 individual collections like Chen Xiguang’s Chinese Paintings, Chen Xiguang’s Color and Ink Paintings, and Chen Xiguang’s Figure Paintings.
